CBS News correspondent Imtiaz Tyab will be honored Oct. 1 at the second annual Atlanta Digital World Summit, which brings together experts in in digital technology innovation and exploration.

 

Tyab will receive The Atlanta Digital World Summit International Leadership Award, for “his commitment to his craft, his extensive and consistent portrayal of excellence to a global audience, and because of his expert use of technology with his production team, and his understanding of the importance of crew and their technological capabilities,” according to the event’s organizers.

 

Tyab is a CBS News correspondent based in London and reports for all platforms, including the “CBS Evening News,” “CBS Mornings,” “CBS Sunday Morning” and CBS News 24/7. He joined the network in April 2019 and has extensive experience reporting from major global flashpoints, including the Middle East and the war on terror.

 

The ADWS Leadership Award was established to honor an individual who utilizes digital technology at a broadcast station, group, company or network to communicate to the world and who has had a significant role in transforming, influencing and creating impact for a wide array of people.

 

“Imtiaz Tyab personifies digital leadership in broadcast journalism,” said Sarah Smith, ADWS Founder. “Our understanding of the war in Gaza, and other global events, is richer because of his dedicated reporting.”

 

The Atlanta Digital World Summit is itself based on how the foundational existence of fiber optics, satellites and the Olympic pioneers, including Ambassador Andrew Young, Atlanta Olympics founder Billy Payne and media mogul Ted Turner, grew Atlanta and the Southeast into a global influencer that continues to grow through the digital architecture that was created. 

The Atlanta Digital World Summit will be held October 1st at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

 

The program will consist of four panels that exemplify the largest growing arenas in digital technology innovation and exploration: Fintech, Gaming/E-Sports, Entertainment/Media and Sports Technology.
